National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah met PM Modi today. Jammu and Kashmir's former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said after the meeting "We met PM. We had sought time from him to tell him about the situation in J&K. There had been tension in valley in last few days,we wanted to tell him about that. We requested him that no step which affects the environment there,should be taken.It has been 1.5 years since a popular elected govt has governed J&K. We want that an election be held in the state before the year ends. People be given a chance to make a decision. We will accept the mandate, whatever it may be."
The deployment of 100 additional companies had stoked speculations of abrogation of Article-35A in the valley. Omar Abdullah added that " We requested Pm that law and order situation in J&K should not deteriorate.
